Versions of Aguas Frescas

A cucumber and lemongrass is another popular option in Mexico and will definitely have you reaching for more. The flavors may not sound like they match, but they complement each other extremely well. The lemongrass is made into the syrup and then the cucumber is blended with water.
For a really fruity aguas frescas, there is a strawberry and thyme drink. Thyme with strawberry? Yes, they two flavors really do mix well together. The benefit is that the thyme is able to dull the extra sweetness that you get from the natural sugars from the strawberries. You can make this with fresh or frozen strawberries - the choice is completely yours.
